No Screens in The Bedroom.

Ten reasons to start tonight.

Devices in the bedroom are sleep killers.

Sleep is key to mental and physical health.

No sleep = bad mood, less energy, low motivation, impatience, no control over anything, cognitive impairment, guilt about procrastination and useless arguments…you see what I mean.

Here are 10 reasons why you should consider removing your phone from your bedroom:

1- You are tired.

2- You have tried many things to sleep more or sleep better, but nothing has worked well.

3- You always succumb to the temptation of double-checking on something in bed, and you end up scrolling your evening/night away.

4- You have trouble falling asleep after finally turning your phone off.

5- Your eye fatigue is increasing.

6- You would like more intimacy with your partner.

7- You feel out of touch with your emotions.

8- You are craving some real ME-time.

9- You wake up exhausted regularly.

10- You think you are not living up to your potential.

Yes, turning your bedroom into a phone-free zone can lead to:

More sleep

More sex

A better connexion with yourself

How does that sound?

Now, hear me well: it won’t happen overnight; it takes a little time to implement and embody a new habit. And, of course, screens aren’t the root of all evil, but if you don’t give this a try, you are less likely to get out of your sleep deprivation misery.

If you think that it sounds worth it, but the FOMO holds you back, you can:

  • Write down the reasons why you want to do it.
  • Write down all the things you are afraid to miss.
  • Find an accountability partner.
  • Read the upper lists out loud to your “no phone in the bedroom” partner.
  • Decide at what time and where you will store your devices.
  • Start on that evening.
  • Debrief in the morning.
  • Keep on going for a week, and talk daily with your accountability partner.

So…ready?
I would love to hear about your Phone-free bedroom experience; you can write a comment to let me know how it went!
